About me

I have a passion for all things IT. Windows, Linux, online or offline, mobile or desktop, if it runs on silicon - I'm interested. I just love making systems work, troubleshooting and tweaking to get things running just right, getting to know all the intricacies and quirks of a system and making it do what it's supposed to: helping you to be productive.

Even growing up in the middle of nowhere in the South African countryside my passion for tech was always present. At 16 I and my brothers put together 3 pcs out of a pile of old throwaways from our uncle and with these dubious setups we gamed the evenings away together.

At 18 I was working alongside my father installing a custom-made Point of Sales system for Zaliotrim, and at 23 under Royalfin Technology Solutions I joined the then-startup Groups R Us as the head admin where I oversaw all office operations, including the migration of the whole company to Microsoft 365.

In 2024 I moved to Berlin, got married, and now work for EXOLAUNCH GmbH as their full-time IT & Network administrator, keeping their systems online and streamlining their digital workflows as they help clients get their satellites to space.

My passion for and experience with IT has only grown since I began work in the field. I am fascinated by the systems that drive the modern web and all the ways things connect and network together. I also self host many open source tools and platforms for personal use, and am working on building a homelab to keep it all under my own roof.
